Fountain Pen Maintenance is a Dirty Job

Who would have thought filling a FP converter could be so difficult?

At first, I would not get the nib deep enough into the bottle. And ink sample containers even more difficult. No ink entered the container.

By now I have ink all over my fingers.

Once  I mastered the depth of the bottle, I very quickly turned the end of the converter to draw nice new ink into the converter. Didn’t work, lots of air bubbles, little ink.
Luckily, I listened to another FP Lover on the Fountain Pen Network group on Facebook. The suggestion was to draw the ink into the converter slowwwly.
Success. Now I had to clean up the mess.

  1. The mess is half the fun! 🙂
It’s funny my husband knows I’ve been playing with inks all day when he seems my hands are colorful when gets home. It’s a badge of honor!
